The stunnel and openssl man pages + README's should be sufficient. You'll
use openssl for certificate generation.

Mail programs supporting SSL. Netscape Mail and Outlook Express supports
this (Netscape only supports SIMAP though, not SPOP3). You're likely to
find the option of using SSL hidden under some obscure 'secure passwords
authentication' term or something like that.
