I have installed (postfix-19991231) pl01 and pl02 by means of the same
installation script.
But pl01 reads mail, whereas pl02 does not but complains:

The 'queue file write error' message I have found in line 876
of 'smtpd/smtpd.c'.

So I use pl01, which is stable for me.
By the way: it have been told to strip the files POSTFIX uses:
