That's what I figured, but my size limit is 10MB and this thing is 7MB.
Still, I upped the limit to 100MB temporarily, and wouldn't you know it
went (naturally, it was denied by the other mail server as too big, but at
least that's in the logs and out of my hands now).

By the way, the VP sent the mail to me just now. Pine and Outlook both
report 7.8MB for the attachment, but when I save it, Pine says "10MB
written":

-rw-rw-r-- 1 alevin sysadmin 7622144 Jan 7 18:16 Roadshow00update1.ppt

Is there some way for the file sizes to be *that* different. Even if the
attachment is smaller than the message as a whole, there can't be 2.5MB of
extra stuff in the message. Any ideas why it'd be rejected? What
criteria does Postfix use to test the message size? Actual bytes?

Naturally. I guess the server is rejecting the message, but Outlook is
trying to tell me why, and failing.

Thanks very much for the quick help -- I'm glad it was something simple.
