with Quoted-Printable it could be anything from original up to 3x the

it's probably trying to be "user-friendly"
MS IE5 "friendly" error messages - manage to make the source of the HTTP
error totally obscure ...
( & keep on at it even after turning off
"show friendly HTTP error messages" under "advanced" :-( )
