I'm using 1.85 without any problems. Two primary reasons I haven't used
v2 or later: we already have a lot of software with support for the
file format used in 1.85 (perl, python, radius, etc), and the one time
I tried using a v2 db, it ran the machine out of memory in about half
an hour (when you have >250 copies of one process running on a machine,
a small increase in resident set size can kill machines).
