I think it's sensible to download the latest release (stable) version.
That would be 19991231-pl04 (unless I've missed an announcement).
The experimental versions will probably work too, but Wietse tends to
"experiment" a little more from one version to another, so you may be
unlucky that it stops working as expected. (this doesn't happen very often).
Unless you need something new in the experimental tree, I'd suggest
using the latest release version, especially if you're running a
production system.
