Recently,
with pine 4.21 and postfix 19991231-pl02 on an OpenBSD 2.6 system,
I have noticed that pine is starting to piss me off. More specifically, when
I send a message, pine dies at [Sending mail | |] ...
chris 31755 0.0 0.0 380 236 p5 IWs 10:31AM 0:00.12 -sh (sh)
chris 28787 0.0 1.9 4208 2520 p5 I+ 1:28PM 0:01.64 (pine)
chris 3538 0.0 0.0 0 0 p5 Z+ 3:30PM 0:00.00 (smtpd)
So, smtpd is a zombie !! smtpd has exited before pine pays attention to
it. I guess my complaint is that Postfix is TOO DAMN FAST!!
But pine doesn't talk right to smtpd, it talks to sendmail.
This doesn't happen all the time. I guess this could be a problem with pine
being stupid, as nobody has ever praised the UW mail software for being
secure or tight.
Has anyone already figured this one out? Is there something simple I can do?
