unless you have a strong reason to go with radius you would probably do
better to investigate ldap. i haven't implemented an ldap solution myself
yet (others on the list have though).
there are already pam modules to do auth against an ldap server, ldap
supports replication/slave servers (eg. like nis/nis+) and postfix/sendmail
already support doing what is needed against an ldap database.
just thoughts ...
