Define "more compatible". Judging from the home page at
http://sourceware.cygnus.com/bzip2/ there doesn't appear to be many
systems it _won't_ run on. Hell, it compiles unmodified on Win32 even.

I shouldn't have to download gzip then just to read _your_ patches.
Hell, why should I have to download a C compiler to compile them, too?
I prefer python - so make your patches available in python so I won't be
forced to deal with your language of choice. :-)
