It's two different skills. Being able to write a language certainly
helps becoming intimate with it, but in fact the best way is to speak it
and be immersed in a culture that speaks it. As for computer literacy,
please bear in mind the people in the world who are either born, or
through mishap become, disabled in some fashion.
I've seen people with multiple degrees who live in wheelchairs -
quadreplegic - but have far more intelligence than many able-bodied
people and have to type on a keyboard using a probe in the mouth.
They can't even write at all since they have no motor control in their
arms, but try to call them illiterate in some way and you'll find out
some other places that probe fits... ;-)
