How is it now an issue? I can't create a /home/some-mail-user/.forward when
no UID is associated with that user name. There are very few entries in
/etc/passwd.
Besides, I already store per-user procmail recipes in
/home/cyrus/procmail.$USER

Because I want system wide mail filtering around which I can have a wrapper
to let people build recipes quickly. I personally don't mind because the
system doesn't have very heavy traffic at the moment.

This is what I have almost working now. Except that when I set procmail as
the LDA, mail is silently eaten instead of delivered. When I test it by
invoking procmail how I think postfix is invoking it, it works fine.
I did more digging into the archives.
http://www.egroups.com/group/postfix-users/9712.html?
Causes my mail (ALL mail) to be added to /var/spool/mail/cyrus instead of
delivered. I do not know why. I have my /home/cyrus/procmail.common to
default to delivering to the inbox.
At this point, I'm tempted to write a perl script for mail filtering.
