No matter.

Aside from the mechanics of telling Postfix to do this... I can see
how one might design a regex to convert Firstname.Lastname to
FirstInitialLastName, but the regex code would have to be a mind reader
to automagically determine how to convert an un-delimited arbitrary
string to another arbitrary string, as in:

    albundy -> abundy
    joeshmoe -> jshmoe
    phredphlintstone -> pphlintstone
             - or -
    phredphlintstone -> pphlints
    etc.

without an explicit regex for each /this/that/. In which case you'd
be better off with a dbm/hash table.

Or have I once again misunderstood the goal?

Regards,
Jim
