I can verify that with a "virtual" single IP address specifed in
inet_interfaces
the source address was the "main" interface with Solaris 2.5.1
and the "virtual" one on Solaris 2.6 (+ patch 105786-NN NN>= 05
+ set ip:ip_enable_group_ifs=0 in /etc/system )

P.S, All this is assuming the "main" & "virtual" interfaces have default
metrics ...
