I had the same trouble. I like linuxconf for adding users and setting
quota's, but everytime you say activate changes, it does a chmod 4755 on
/usr/sbin/sendmail. Solve this by launching Linuxconf, select "Control files
and system". Then you have two options: disable mailconf under "Configure
Linuxconf modules" or set the file permissions under "Configure file
permissions", "/usr/sbin/sendmail".
