        Consider yourself lucky, extremely lucky. It has been our
experience that MySQL doesn't scale, and doesn't provide
transactional commit/rollback facilities, and we are replacing it
with Sybase. It has been my personal experience at other employers
that Sybase has more than a few problems of it's own, but in general,
it does tend to be quite a bit more powerful and robust than MySQL.

        Don't get me wrong, MySQL is the perfect database to use for most
relatively small projects, the issue is that it's the wrong tool to
use if you want to build something that will scale.
