The vendor doesn't have a clue. We're running about 120 lists, some
with over 2000 recipients, on an old Sun SparcStation 5 (in my opinion,
these are roughly the speed of a 486) with 64M of ram, and a couple old
2G scsi disks. *Never* has the MTA crashed. Nearly all list postings
are delivered in less than 10 minutes (including those with over 2000
recipients - delays are caused by the recipients, not the list
server). It's running Postfix, of course (it was the first production
machine I put Postfix on).
