I had some users ask me for a vacation-like program. I crafted up
the attached procmailrc recipe.

It uses procmail recipe standard idioms to avoid responding to any
address twice, and to try to avoid anything that would set up a
mailing loop. It tries very hard to avoid auto-responding to mailing
list, but sadly that's impossible. It doesn't include any attempt
at any-spam logic, so it tends to auto-respond to spam, which is
unfortunate (it confirms the address as "live", thus increasing
levels of spam).

I've sent this out to the procmail list and collected some feedback
(indicated in the comments). I use it in production.

Note that it'll Cc postmaster on every auto-reply sent --- an
attempt to give me some chance to keep it from auto-responding to
every message on a busy mailing list.
