I suspect the difference is how mutt-vs-netscape send email, not
between snapshot and stable.

Mutt pipes the message into the program /usr/lib/sendmail. Netscape
sends it by talking SMTP to port 25 on the configured mail server.

Postfix will always accept email on port 25. Whether it accepts
email on port 25 depends on whether the originator of the network
connection is coming from a network named in mynetworks.

If you gave Netscape the address 127.0.0.1 for its smtp server, I
believe it would also be originating from that address, and I also
believe that address is always wired into mynetworks, so you should
be able to relay OK. But I'd be guessing you've given netscape your
external IP address. Perhaps that's not listed in mynetworks?
