Sometimes I can be a bit harsh.
Anyway, I propose the following:
1) Add a comment on top of master.cf (and other strategically useful
locations) saying:
DON'T EDIT THIS FILE UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING. REALLY. I MEAN IT.
2) Add a file master.cf.chroot which is an exact copy of master.cf with all
daemons having the chroot column set to "y".
