Hi all!
(sorry for bad english!)
I would ask you a little hint about a project I've in mind.
Currently I've a Linux 2.2.6 box with Postfix 1999.06.01 (Yes, I had to upgrade ;) ) fine working as receiving-mail only for our
domains.
Now I had to move that machine to be also our company's outgoing mail server (before we was using our provider's one).
No problem at all, I've already tested the configs, all ok.
But I was thinking about a way to increase availability (sp?) and fault-tolerance: using another unix box (I've also a FreeBSD 3.4
box) for MX backup and smtp-outgoing only.
So each MUA client would be configured to send outgoing mail to that machine only (working with DNS aliases is easy to obtain).
I've already installed postfix 1999-12-31 pl06 on this FreeBSD box, now I had to configure it.
There is, AFAYK, some particular settings I had to use ?
What about my wish to separate in and out SMTPs ?
(I really guess many other people already did it :)) )
Thanks a lot!
bye!
