Subject: POP3 server for postfix

Hi,

I remember reading somewhere in one of the documents about postfix that
there is or will be a pop3 server for postfix. Can anybody point me to the
reference? Does the software exist in idiot proof form?

Alternatively can anyone recommend a suitable lightweight pop3 (and
imap?) server to backend postfix running as a mail relay on a linux firewall
box for users on a small internal lan. It is receiving and forwarding mail to /
from my ISP using a dial up connection. I don't want any userids on the
box apart from the minimum necessary to configure the products. I
certainly don't want the post recipients' userids and passwords on it.

I assume that mail would be passed to the pop3 server either using mail
files in /var/spool/mail (using aliases entries) or would be passed straight to
the pop3 server for it to spool the mail (using a transport map entry).

Any comments or suggestions would be welcome, as well as any
experience anyone has with such a setup.

David
