I changed that parameter but this does not help. Can it be that if too many users do
a pop at the same time, when I send the message, that there is a locking condition
between POP and SMTP?

As I wrote before, if I cancel the send process by pressing on the "cancel" button
and press it immediately again, the mail is sent at once.
