An E250 is less powerful than it seems if you don't employ some kind of
fancy controler. I found that one E250 can only serve about 25.000 pop
mailboxes when using disksuite in a striped/mirror configuration.

If you want to get a Solaris box to perform, you will need a device like an
A1000. Or just go with an OS that has a decent fs, like Linux or *BSD with
softupdates.
