I have a lot of respect for both of you on a technical level. And I also
know exactly where Brad is coming from, because I'm quick to advocate
FreeBSD over Linux. I'm also not a fan of Dan.
But, one thing you seem to be missing is that Bennett doesn't view
dnscache as "Dan" software. I think he advocates it for the same reason
that we're all advocates for postfix; it provides a viable, fast, secure
alternative to the incumbent, which has grown fat, lazy, and who's code is
of questionable quality in terms of security, readability, and
scalability.
I've never used tinydns before, but it's silly to bash it because of who
wrote it, and then bash others for advocating software written by somebody
you don't like.
