I haven't reproduced the error yet, but after issuing a hourly mailq, I
can see too many timeouts. I thought that the problem could be too many
smtp processes going out and I set the default_process_limit to 50
(which is the default amount I think) but if I do a ps I get:
[root
XXXX root]# ps ax| grep smtp |wc -l
66
There are 66 smtp processes running, and sometimes even more.
Could be that the problem? (X % of emails deferred due to timeout, and
4-6 hours later going out?
Can I limit smtp processes so they won't 'overload' my conection and
time out themselves??
Thanks in advance! Best regards,
Alberto
