Running the latest ReiserFS with 2.2.17pre16, on top of a Raid 0+1 set
(Mylex 1100 card), the FS scored ~10000 ops per second .. for half an
hour, when the kernel decided to panic. This happens every time I try
it.
Using Ext2 it takes about nine hours for the same thing to happen ..
admittedly, accesses are much slower (and the disks aren't getting that
sort of hammering normally anyway), but it is far more reliable.
I have a feeling that the problem is caused by the DAC960 driver and
not ReiserFS (because I'd expect Ext2 to be stable by now), but these
cards have to many good points to pass them up.
