"Simple SMTP", believe it or not :-). Apparently a stripped-down SMTP
client. One of the references I found was to a postfix-users thread.
After seeing that, I vaguely recalled seeing the thread here.

I also found a couple of references on Google that appeared reference
some "Secure SMTP." But the links were no longer valid.

Given "SSL", "SSH", and the like, the latter (Secure SMTP) would seem
to be make more sense to me.

At <http://mirror.ox.ac.uk/Mirrors/www.exim.org/config.samples/C027> I
found an interesting recipe that would imply both definitions, I
suppose :-). (I only briefly scanned it.)
