true, but the ISP that provides you with UUCP service doesn't have to be
the same ISP that provides you with dialup access. once you're on the
net, you can get your uucp feed from anywhere in the world.

you can find more information on running uucp over tcp at
http://home.msen.com/~jimsun/jdp/uucp_over_tcp/ and by doing a search
for "uucp over tcp" at www.google.com

if your uucp provider supports it, you can even use stunnel to encrypt
the uucp sessions. see my page at http://taz.net.au/postfix/uucp/ for a
very brief mini-howto.

for dialup mail servers with dynamic IP addresses, uucp is the right
tool for the job.
