If they are to turn users away, they can continue like that. There are
distributions that care for stability rather than "all the latest,
buggiest and most incompatible" development tool chain.

It's outright nonsense, dumbness and so on. How can a developer expect
his software to run on stable systems with glibc 2.2 and an officially
incompatible, interim gcc 2.96 snapshot?

They can provide gdb 5.0 along with 4.18 if they want, since that does
not influence the code compatibility that comes of of that box.

I'm pissed. That RH7 decisions mess up mailing lists and cause
unnecessary support inquiries and will turn away Red Hat fans (ok, their
problem).

Should I eventually get to the point that I'm considering SuSE Linux
more solid than Red Hat Linux? :-]
