Yep, although that's still no substitute for knowing what's happening.
Note in particular that some Linux systems will keep setting the setuid
bit on /usr/sbin/sendmail, so you may be in for more frustration.
Also, I suspect "sendmail -bd" isn't the right way to start postfix
(maybe it works, dunno). Use "postfix start", and "postfix stop" to
stop and start. Use "postfix reload" after changing configuration to
get the system to pick up the change (this is somewhat disruptive, so
use infrequently).
