Yes. I'm not sure where you got this rpm, or for which distribution
it's intended, (perhaps it's redhat's version?), but I remember seeing
this problem with a version of a postfix rpm built with rpm version 4.
Redhat 6.x uses rpm version 3.0.x, and it sounds like you may be
having this problem.

There is a version of rpm 3 which supports the new format (partially)
and this maybe on redhat's site. This version, the one I'm using is,
rpm-3.0.5-7.6x
