Actually, I reported to Dan way back when that his "Lone LF" warning was
in fact also triggered by a lone CR. Mail sent from PC's sometimes
contained extra CR's in the message body, and sendmail passed those on
to the remote system as <CR><LF><CR>. Maybe the LF just feels lonely
because it's outnumbered. Right or wrong, the error message is
misleading (and the cc:Mail to SMTP gateway that produced them was wrong
in a lot of respects). I suggest the original poster look for stray CR's
that might wind up in the message body.
