/etc/postfix/main.cf:
    debug_peer_list = gold.lyris.net 216.91.57.33

and watch the verbose logging of HELO commands.

Several options come to mind.

1 - Use the source, Luke.

2 - Wait until I revise the valid_hostname() interface

2 - Use egrep -v 'numeric hostname: 0\.0\.0\.0' while watching the logfile.
