We had the same problem with a bad firewall. We then patched qmail to send
out bounces as "postmaster
customer.org". Not entirely smart, but the (now
fixed) firewall setup wasn't either.
Keep in mind that this was a "certified" firewall -- although nobody ever
told us who certified that crap.
