Sorry if this was asked thousands of times before, I RTFM, DejaNews, I
tried different methods. I used sendmail before and really don't want to
go back. So I finally need some help after two days of almost no sucess.

My host is a Linux box (SuSE 7.0, Kernel 2.4.1), postfix-19991231-pl08
(I have snapshot-20010201.tar.gz here, but did not give it a try yet)

I have a machine called rfhome.fietze.de, this name is unkown to the
outside world and there is no MX for this machine pointing to my
providers mail host.

My providers smtp relay for outgoing mail is mail.s.netic.de.

I use a modem and PPP with auto DNS, so I only have a valid
/etc/resolv.conf when connected and the relay host might change
IP-addresses from connection to connection or time to time so I will not
use IP addresses in relayhost.

Reception of mail is fine, sending of mail currently only works using
netscape (entered a valid from address "fietzes.netic.de", which is my
official mail address). The box worked w/ sendmail except that local
delivery was delayed sometimes.

Mail recipients with no domain should be delivered local, From: not
rewritten.

Mail recepients with useroutside.domain should be delivered smtp
deferred, From: rewritten to senders.netic.de.

It just doesn't work, any pointer to old mailing list threads or direct
help is very appreciated. Once I don't get mail.s.netic.de resolved
allthough nslookup is fine, then I get "<roman.fietzegmx.de>:
mail.s.netic.de: host not found" in a "Undelivered Mail" notification
from postfix.
