FYI, amavis-perl-11 is available for download now. An official announcement
will be made as soon as SourceForge's uppload server is back in action.

HOWEVER, I do not recommend amavis-perl-11 for use with postfix!

I have also released a first public snapshot of amavisd, the daemonised
     version of amavis-perl.

     http://www.amavis.org/download.php3

No matter which version you choose, make sure to have a close look at
the included documentation, README, NEWS, and README.postfix in particular.
There are some configuration changes compared to amavis-perl-10, one of
     which affects master.cf.

o all runtime files/dirs now live in the same directory
[/var/amavis by default] unless configured differently
o an additional perl module is now required: Archive-Zip. The unzip command
line tool is not needed anymore
o support for Command AntiVirus (CSAV) for Linux was added
     o much improved logging/debugging
     o in the daemon version, a few configure options have been removed;
there is a config file now [/etc/amavisd.conf by default]
o the test suite (make check) doesn't work in the daemon version
o for package maintainers: new configure option --enable-all; see INSTALL

I have been using amavisd in production for more than two months now.
Whether it provides a performance increase over plain amavis-perl depends
on your actual mail mix (avg msg size, no. of recipients per message, etc).
