Typically files under /etc/rc?.d/ directories are hard links (use ls -i
to see inode numbers) to files under /etc/init.d directory. When
swiching to runlevel n, Solaris runs all skripts under /etc/rcn.d
directory in alphabetical order. If scripts name starts with letter K it
will be run with an argument "stop", those starting with letter S with
argument "start". The number after the first letter is just for ordering
This is all specific to Solaris only and completely OT to the list.
