I think there is spamware out there that tries to take advantage of
backup MX's being at large ISPs and thus less likely to be big spam
trappers. I get a good bit of SPAM that never hits the primary MX but
goes straight to the secondary. Of course, that could just be network
connectivity issues, but it happens even when both servers are not
having any issues.
