Hi!
With sendmail there's a 'feature'(?) that allows me to send messages
with the daemon stopped. It's very useful if you just want to send
messages from a certain host, but never receive messages (e.g. web
servers, desktops with pine, etc.). Such programs usually calls
'sendmail' and it tries only once to deliver the message (in case of
failure, it went to a blackhole... ;-)).
A friend of mine was trying to do the same with postfix 20010228pl02
without success. Postfix was only putting messages in the queue and to
deliver them we had to start the daemon.
Is it a bug or feature?
We've searched the FAQ for that, but couldn't find nothing.
Thanks in advance,
