i'm willing to bet postfix is seeing this not as a local alias because of
the .com ending.
try tacking your local domain on the end..i.e
error-foo.com
yourlocaldomain.com
what is the difference between what you have configured against simply
doing:
dumb
foo.com nouser
where "nouser" is a user account that does NOT exist.
or if you wanted to silently drop the email..
/etc/postfix/virtual
dumb
foo.com nouser
/etc/aliases
nouser: /dev/null
