Hello everybody!

This is what i have: Iam using sendmail and iam creating system users for
email accounts, storing mail in /var/spool/mail/* and authenticating using
System passwd+shadow.

This is an idea about what i want to do.

1-A MySQL database with username:password:group etc... (done)
2-Postfix (pop3 actually) authenticating users from there too, so they can
check (and send) their email stored in /var/spool/ but without using system
passwd+shadow and therefore there will be no need to create a user in the
system for mail accounts. (not a clue, any suggestions?)
3-PHP+HTML to add/delete users and change passwds and etc... in the MySQL
database. (done)

Can it be done?
Does enybody done something like this?
Any ideas how to do it?
