he treats it as a newsgroup

he treats it as a newsgroup too. I use gnus too. I just spent the
last couple weeks figuring out how to subscribe so I could have the
privilege of asking questions... however I haven't seen my questions
    here oddly.

well, for instance this message here of mine with its minimal content
and full rehash of quoted matter is probably more suitable for a
newsgroup. i see the postfix 'newsgrpup' on google... why exclusively
on google and not readonly on NNTP in general... might as well as they
    are providing it...

odd how posting privileges add reading transport are coupled.

and for us non-institutional users with rinky-dink mailboxes on modem
lines in 2.5 world countries, with POP resets every 2 or 3
messages... well, I think you are possibly excluding some of the less
fortunate users... what is wrong with GNU's moderated newsgroups if a
list of allowed posters is also maintained?

i just feel bad that one day some personal message of importance wont
get thru my rinky-dink POP mailboxes due to mailing list onslaught...
