Hello,
I am attempting to configure my Postfix installation
to receive bounces for messages that originated with
VERP-style envelope-from addresses. My understanding
of VERP is that the SMTP server should be able to
receive messages in which the 'rcpt to:' is in the
format:
<local user><special character><VERP data>
domain.com
(e.g. bob-1234
domain.com, where bob is a local user
account and '1234' is some sort of data identifying
the original message)
I have the latest snapshot (20020107) installed,
which, as far as I can tell from the mail list
archives and HISTORY file, should allow VERP receival
and local delivery. I've played around with the
verp-related main.cf config parameters, but I have
been unable to successfully deliver mail with VERP
addressing.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, both in
configuring Postfix and in assembling the VERP
address, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Aaron Couts
