Hello,
I have been trying to set up postfix as the default MTA on a RH 7.2
system. I have compiled it cleanly, followed all the instructions in the
INSTALL readme, but when I start it up, it does not deliver mail. I shose
not to suid run time option. I don't see anything in the logs about why it
can't deliver local mail. V1.1.4 btw.
I'm using a simple test line like "echo test | mail me"
It appears to be accepted, no errors, and then the message never shows up
in any incoming mbox.
I now have an even weirder problem. Since postfix is 'no go', I can't get
sendmail to start up either. 'sendmail start' just hangs forever. It was
not set to suid but I changed that back and still, nothing.
Anyone got any useful trouble shooting tips for this newbie?
Thanks in advance.
