Hi.
For some reason or the other, SMTP AUTH now all of a sudden works for
me. Dunno why; maybe it was because I installed the cyrus-imapd
package?
Who knows. But I don't understand why SMTP AUTH works. In
/usr/lib/sasl/smtpd.conf I've got:
[root
devel postfix]# cat /usr/lib/sasl/smtpd.conf
realm: devel.net-attach.de
pwcheck_method: saslauthd
What does this mean? I would think, that this means that postfix should
do authentication using saslauthd. Well, seems like I'm wrong, because
even when I stop saslauthd (and restart postfix), I can still
sucessfully do SMTP AUTH.
Could somebody please explain why SMTP AUTH still works? And how can I
configure the method postifx + sasl should use to do the AUTH?
