    You've obviously spent way too long debugging, let alone describing your
    problem. Well done for the level of detail though. I'm sorry that your
    mail had no response - it's really painful when that happens.

    I don't use SASL so am a novice here I'm afraid - but a (maybe totally
    false) idea - your password talks about a host ;

    smtp.yec.phub.net.cable.rogers.com

    Could this be the problem?
