I restarted Postfix with "local -v", the only output from "local"
were several dozen lines of the form:
postfix/local[7567]: dict_eval_action: type literal <xyz>
or
postfix/local[7567]: dict_eval_action: type variable <xyz>
Nothing more.
Then I ran a fsck, but it didn't find any problems. When I rebooted
the machine after the check, starting Postfix took unusually long,
and after I logged in I found that all queued mail had been delivered !
(I don't like fixing Linux problems by rebooting at all...)
After the reboot, the maillog contained tons of output from ca. 4
"local" processes that delivered the queued messages. If you need
anything specific, I'll post it.
There were no further warnings or errors, though.
So restarting Postfix didn't fix the problem, but rebooting did.
No idea what that could have been, maybe it comes up again.
Regards,
Alexander
