I'd suggest you check your log files and see what the complaint was i.e.
/var/log/maillog
/var/log/mail/info
/var/log/syslog
... or whatever

No. I doubt anyone would notice.

Probably not - except the settings might not be suitable for you.
You need to check logs and post the output of 'postconf -n' (i.e. show
non-default main.cf settings) for real help.
