    As usual, Wietse has hit the nail on the head.

    I've got several BSDi boxes that have been doing mail scanning for
    ~25,000 accounts for over a year now using various Linux virus scanners
    and the Linux Application Platform (LAP) in BSDi.

    McAfee's uvscan generally works, although we did have one unfortunate
    episode where it was core dumping on certain attachments last year.
    I also tested H+BEDV, Trend/trophie, and Sophos/sophie. We wound up
    getting a fairly major agreement with Sophos. I am VERY satisfied with
    the performance we are getting from sophie.
