Don't know if this has been discussed with the ext3 people, but perhaps
the semantics of the sync bit should be thought over. The 'S' bit means
'data is stored to disk when write() returns' - and imho it is
irrelevant if the data is stored to the journal file or the actual file.
So perhaps performance of ext3 could be made better in many cases?
Just a thought.
